Description ABSTRACT Compost is a result of plant waste decomposition due to the microorganism decomposition. Therefore it needs a decomposer to fasten organic decomposition. This research was done in March until August 2016 in Palm Oil Research Centre Laboratory of North Sumatera and Agricultural Engineering Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, USU, Medan, using non factorial completely randomized design with 2 types of MOL, i, e, Microbe-Lift MOL and EM-4 MOL. Measured parametres were comparison of C/N, pH, yield and moisture. The result showed that there was no significant different between the Microbe-Lift MOL and EM-4 MOL in the case of C/N, pH, yield and moisture. Key words: Compost, Decomposer, Empty Fruit Bunch, Palm Oil ABSTRAK   Kompos merupakan hasil pelapukan sisa-sisa tanaman yang disebabkan oleh aktivitas mikroorganisme pengurai. Oleh sebab itu perlu adanya dekomposer untuk mempercepat penguraian bahan organik. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Maret hingga Agustus 2016 di Laboratorium Pusat Penelitian Kelapa Sawit Sumatera Utara dan Laboratorium Keteknikan Pertanian Fakultas Pertanian USU, Medan, dengan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap non faktorial dengan 2 jenis MOL yaitu Microbe-Lift dan Larutan EM-4. Parameter yang diamati adalah perbandingan C/N, pH, rendemen dan kadar air. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa tidak ada perbedaan pengaruh pemberian MOL Microbe-Lift dan MOL Larutan EM-4 dalam hal perbandingan C/N, pH, rendemen dan kadar air.   Kata kunci: Dekomposer, Kelapa Sawit, Kompos, Tandan Kosong
