Description A facial approach for the synthesis of surfactant free, biodegradable and eco-friendly chitosan nanofibers (CS-NFS) was prepared by Oil/Water Emulsion method. The morphology of the CS-NFS was examined by field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM). FE-SEM images show the nanoscale chitosan nanofibers formation with sizes in the ranges of ~100-200 nm. Physiochemical characterizations of the CS-NFS were analyzed by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), UV-visible spectroscopy and thermogravimetric analysis. The CS-NFS are expected to be useful in electrical, optical and electrochemical devices.
