Description ABSTRACT The use of plants as medicine is highly trusted by the people of Indonesia as evidenced by the behavior of the community towards the use of herbal medicines. In the midst of technological advances, there is a tendency for people to return to nature (back to nature) as the starting point for the development of herbal medicine. Based on interviews with two shamans from the Suku Anak Dalam, namely the shaman from the Telai Tribe in Pemmunyian Village and the shaman from the Singkut Tribe in the Village of Renah Sungai Ipuh, Jambi Province, that the Suku Anak Dalam community use plants as medicine, for example guava leaves and sicerek for the treatment of diarrheal diseases, jempang leaves. as a cure for malaria. This study aims to determine the effect of guava (Psidium guajava L) and sicerek (Clausena excavata Burm.F) infusion in inhibiting bacterial growth. The research was carried out using a factorial completely randomized design (RALF) method, namely there were several factors, factor A 2 treatment levels and factor B 5 treatment levels with 3 replications. The investigation of the development stage is descriptive analysis. The restriction was observed that there was a zone of bacterial inhibition. Data processing was carried out using the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) method. The results indicated that the guava plant infusion (Psidium guajava L) and sicerek (Clausena excavata Burm. F) to be tested on Escherichia coli bacteria with the best composition could inhibit the clear zone, namely the treatment (Psidium guajava L) 50% and (Clausena excavata Burm). F) 50. it can be concluded that the effect of Psidium guajava L and Clausena excavata Burm F infusion has potential as an antibacterial as evidenced by its ability to inhibit the growth of Escherichia coli.Keyword: Infusion, Medicinal Plants, Bacteria
