Description This study describes the synthesis, characterization and antimicrobial activity evaluation of 2-(1-{3-[(7-chloroquinolin-4-yl)amino]phenyl}ethylidene)hydrazinecarboxamide (5), which was designed and synthesized applying a molecular hybridization strategy, considering two pharmacophoric portions: 7-chloro-4-aminoquinoline and semicarbazone; both fractions have been related to antimicrobial activity exhibited by a series of derivatives synthesized. Compound 5 was characterized using 1H NMR, 13C NMR and Electrospray Ionization Mass Spectrometry (ESI-MS) studies. Biological evaluation showed that compound 5 exhibited antimicrobial activity against bacteria Gram (-) Pseudomona aeruginosa, comparable with the activities corresponding to Amikacin, Ampicillin/Sulbactam and Ofloxacin.
El presente estudio describe la síntesis, caracterización y evaluación de la actividad antimicrobiana del 2-(1-{3-[(7-cloroquinolin-4-il)amino]fenil}etilideno)hidracinacarboxamida (5), el cual se diseñó y sintetizó aplicando una estrategia de hibridación molecular, considerando dos porciones farmacofóricas: 7-cloro-4-aminoquinolina y semicarbazona; ambas fracciones se han relacionado con la actividad antimicrobiana exhibida por una serie de derivados sintetizados. El compuesto 5 se caracterizó empleando estudios de RMN 1H, RMN 13C y espectrometría de masas con ionización por electrospray (ESI-EM). La evaluación biológica demostró que el compuesto posee una actividad antimicrobiana contra la bacteria Gram (-) Pseudomona aeruginosa, comparable con las actividades correspondientes a la amikacina, ampicilina-sulbactam y la ofloxacina.
