Description ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze student needs for the development of guided inquiry-based worksheets on cell material. Guided inquiry-based worksheets are teaching materials that can make it easier for teachers to carry out learning and train students to learn independently so that students with low levels of thinking are still able to carry out learning activities that have been designed. This research is a development research using a modified 4-D development model from Thiagarajan and Sammel (1974). Researchers limit this research to the develop stage. Based on the results of interviews and data obtained, it can be concluded that students need guided inquiry-based worksheets on cell material. This is based on the results of an interview with one of the biology teachers who teaches in class XI of SMA Negeri 03 Mukomuko that in carrying out learning activities the teacher has not used LKPD. The results of the analysis of the daily test scores for the students of class XI MIA with 82 students, the average daily test score above the KKM 75 was only 48.63% of students..
