Description Depresi merupakan gangguan mental yang sering ditemukan pada lansia dan mempunyai dampak buruk apabila tidak tertangani dengan baik. Sehingga perlu ada model terapi untuk menurunkan depresi pada lansia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahuai pengaruh reminiscence therapy terhadap penurunan depresi pada lansia. Penelitian yang dilakukan merupakan penelitian quasy-experiment (one-group pretest posttest design). Subyek penelitian adalah lansia yang mengalami depresi di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Parempuan Kabupaten Lombok Barat, sebanyak 59 lansia dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Kuesioner skala depresi geriatrik (GDS) digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data terkait depresi lansia. Reminiscence therapy dilakukan selama tiga sesi dengan durasi waktu kurang lebih 25-30 menit setiap sesi. Data dianalisis dengan uji Wilcoxon menggunakan SPSS versi 21. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perubahan skor GDS pada lansia sebelum dan sesudah diberikan reminiscence therapy dan hasil uji Wilcoxon menunjukkan nilai p (p-value) 0,000. Terdapat pengaruh reminiscence therapy dalam menurunkan depresi pada lansia. Reminiscence therapy dapat dijadikan sebagai terapi alternatif untuk menurunkan tingkat depresi pada lansia.
Depression is a mental disorder that is often found in the elderly and has a bad impact if it is not handled properly. So there needs to be a model of therapy to reduce depression in the elderly. This study aims to determine the effect of reminiscence therapy on reducing depression in the elderly. The research conducted was a quasi-experimental study (one-group pretest post-test design). The research subjects were elderly people who experienced depression in the working area of ??Puskesmas Parempuan, West Lombok Regency, as many as 59 elderly people were selected using purposive sampling technique. The geriatric depression scale questionnaire (GDS) was used to collect data related to depression in the elderly. Reminiscence therapy is carried out for three sessions with a duration of approximately 25-30 minutes per session. The data were analyzed by using the Wilcoxon test using SPSS version 21. The results showed that there was a change in the GDS score in the elderly before and after being given reminiscence therapy and the Wilcoxon test results showed a p-value of 0,000. There is an effect of reminiscence therapy in reducing depression in the elderly. Reminiscence therapy can be used as an alternative therapy to reduce levels of depression in the elderly.
