Description Los países industrializados se percataron que el recurso más efectivo de sus empresas lo constituían sus trabajadores, que los resultados exitosos en el desempeño laboral estaban asociados a los grados académicos, especialmente de maestrías y doctorados. La presente investigación ha tenido como objetivo analizar de qué manera las competencias académicas de posgrado han permitido a los maestristas, su posicionamiento en el ámbito profesional. La investigación es de alcance explicativo, diseño correlacional y la muestra censal la consti-tuyeron 81 maestritas de la Universidad Nacional Federico Villarreal, egresados en el año 2016. Se aplicó las técnicas de encuesta y el análisis de contenido. Todos los instrumentas fueron validados por juicio de expertos. Se concluyó demostrando la importancia de las competencias académicas de posgrado como factor directamente relacionado con la mejora de la calidad y posicionamiento laboral de los profesionales.

Industrialized countries realized that the most effective resource for their companies was their workers, that successful results in job performance were associated with academic de-grees, especially master’s and doctorate degrees. The objective of this research is to analyze how postgraduate academic competences have allowed teachers to position themselves in the professional field. The research is explanatory in scope, correlational design, and the census sample was made up of 81 female teachers from the Universidad Nacional Federico Villarreal, graduated in 2016. Survey techniques and content analysis were applied. All in-struments were validated by expert judgment. It was concluded by demonstrating the im-portance of postgraduate academic competencies as a factor directly related to improving the quality and job positioning of professionals.
