Description Metode penelitian yang digunakan yakni metode sejarah yang mencakup atas empat tahapan kegiatan 1) heuristik, 2) kritik sumber, 3) interpretasi dan 4) histografi. Dari keempat langkah kegiatan inilah, yang dapat digunakan peneliti di dalam menelusuri jejak-jejak pendidikan sekolah masa 1932 – 1966 di daerah Bulukumba dengan mengadakan wawancara terhadap saksi sejarah sebagai sumber primer dan berusaha membandingkan sumber sekunder serta sumber benda untuk menuliskan kisah sejarah secara objektif dan dapat dipertanggungjawabkan secara ilmiah.Hasil penelitian diperoleh tantangan penyelenggaraan pendidikan sekolah 1932 – 1966 di daerah Bulukumba mencakup penyelenggaraan pendidikan barat di Bulukumba, kedatangan Sekutu dan NICA (Belanda) di daerah Bulukumba, pengaruh gerakan DI/TII di daerah Bulukumba, ancaman Gerakan Sosial Politik Dompea Amamatoa Kajang, pengaruh G 30 S/PKI 1965 di daerah Bulukumba, sikap kolot orangtua dan masyarakat dalam memaknai pendidikan. Selain itu, tantangan yang paling berat dihadapi dalam menyelenggarakan pendidikan sekolah masyarakat kabupaten Bulukumba gerakan DI/TII dan Gerakan Dompea Ammatoa Kajang.  Akhirnya,    masyarakat dan orangtua dalam menjawab tantangan pendidikan sekolah  (1932 – 1966). Di daerah Bulukumba.Kata kunci:  perjalanan, pendidikan, dan sekolah AbstractThe research method used in the historical method includes four stages of activity 1) heuristics, 2) source criticism, 3) interpretation and 4) histography. From these four activities, researchers can use the traces of school education in the period 1932 - 1966 in the Bulukumba area by interviewing historical witnesses as primary sources and trying to compare secondary sources and sources of objects to tell historical stories objectively and scientifically accountable. .The results of the research on the challenges of organizing school education from 1932 to 1966 in the Bulukumba area included the implementation of western education in Bulukumba, the arrival of the Allies and NICA (Netherlands) in the Bulukumba area, the influence of the DI / TII movement in the Bulukumba area, the threat of the Dompea Amamatoa Kajang Social Political Movement, the influence of the G 30 S / PKI 1965 in the Bulukumba area, the conservative attitude of parents and society in interpreting education. In addition, the most serious challenges are in organizing community school education in Bulukumba district, the DI / TII movement and the Dompea Ammatoa Kajang movement.
