Description This research is based on the background that students have a low interest in social studies learning characterized by many students who are less interested in paying attention to the teacher's explanation when the learning process takes place in class, learning tends to be teacher-centered with a monotonous method, and the willingness of students to read social studies books is lacking. This study aims to increase interest in social studies learning through the active learning method of the Quiz Team technique for grade VII.3 students of SMP Negeri 7 Muara Bungo. This type of research is a classroom action research (Classroom Action Research) which is carried out in two cycles. The results showed that the use of the active learning method of the Quiz Team technique could increase students' interest in learning with an average score in the first cycle of 70,63 and 84.53 in cycle II.
Penelitian ini berlatar belakang siswa memiliki minat belajar IPS rendah ditandai dengan masih banyak siswa yang kurang tertarik memperhatikan penjelasan guru ketika proses pembelajaran berlangsung di kelas, pembelajaran yang cenderung berpusat pada guru dengan metode yang monoton, dan kemauan siswa dalam membaca buku IPS terlihat kurang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan minat belajar IPS melalui metode pembelajaran aktif teknik Quiz Team pada siswa kelas VII.3 SMP Negeri 7 Muara Bungo. Jenis Penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan dua siklus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan metode pembelajaran aktif teknik Quiz Team dapat meningkatkan minat belajar siswa dengan nilai rata-rata pada siklus I 70, 63 dan siklus II 84,53.
