Entering the era of disruption 4.0, there was technology-based innovation in finance or financial technology (fintech), which has now become a competitor for commercial banks, especially rural banks (BPR). This study aims to analyze the applicability of market relevant in this business. This research is a doctrinal legal research with a statutory approach. The data collected were analyzed qualitatively. The research results describe that until now the "loan" product is still growing and developing both in BPR and P2P Lending so that it is not said to be a substitute, so it is not said to be in "market relevant". P2P Lending applies Posner's efficiency principles by utilizing technology and simplification of procedures that are currently in high demand by customers, while independent variables of BPR fail to reflect BPR inefficiency. The increase in P2P Lending is not detrimental to BPRs, BPR failures are more due to technological factors and internal fraud.
