Description A phenomenon in the modern era, where myths are only directed to one goal, which is to maintain a grand narrative (single narrative). The grand narrative is a scientific objective construction without disputes there and is the only standard parameter for every social problem. One grand narrative which is a myth of modernity is that every legal attempt by a convicted corruption is a fight against justice. Thus, there is a postulate that every filing of legal remedies will be further aggravated criminal punishment. Thus, the law enforcement process is built in a scientific-rational-logical-systematic way based on teleological absolutism. So, in this study, the researcher proposes the formulation of the problem, namely, how does the work of myths which are preserved as grand narratives in modernity in the criminal justice process against corrupt behavior? This research uses a normative juridical method based on secondary data through a literature study, which is equipped with various research approaches, including philosophical and linguistic approaches. The results of this study are to show that one narrative is retained as a myth of modernity through the work of Legal Studies that rebuilt Defendants in proposing legal remedies as something that must be made worse by the threat of criminal sanctions.
