Description This research aims to determine the differences for mathematics representation ability between ATI teaching model with Open-Ended approach, ATI, and direct learning; determine the differences for mathematics representation ability between students who have autonomy of high, medium and low;  determine the interaction between learning model and autonomy learning to mathematics representation ability. The type of research is quasi experimental by using nonequivalent posttest only control group design. The populations of research were all students of class VIII SMPN 4 Singkawang. The sample of populations of class VIII D, VIII H, and VIII G. The data were analyzed by using two-way variance analysis with unequal cells. The result showed that there is differences for mathematics representation ability between ATI teaching model with Open-Ended approach, ATI, and direct learning; there is differences for mathematics representation ability between students who have autonomy of high, medium and low;  there is interaction between the learning model and the autonomy of learning on mathematics representation ability.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji perbedaan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa antara model pembelajaran ATI dengan pendekatan Open-Ended, model pembelajaran ATI, dan model pembelajaran langsung; menguji perbedaan kemampuan representasi matematis antara siswa yang memiliki kemandirian belajar tinggi, sedang, dan rendah; menguji interaksi antara model pembelajaran dan kemandirian belajar terhadap kemampuan representasi matematis siswa. Penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian eksperimen semu dengan desain nonequivalent posttest only control group design. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh kelas VIII SMPN 4 Singkawang. Sedangkan sampel yang digunakan adalah kelas VIII D, VIII G, dan VIII H. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah cluster sampling. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan Anava dua jalan dengan sel tak sama. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada perbedaan kemampuan representasi matematis siswa antara model pembelajaran ATI dengan pendekatan Open-Ended, model pembelajaran ATI, dan model pembelajaran langsung; ada perbedaan kemampuan representasi matematis antara siswa yang memiliki kemandirian belajar tinggi, kemandirian belajar sedang, dan kemandirian belajar rendah; ada interaksi antara model pembelajaran dan kemandirian belajar terhadap kemampuan representasi matematis siswa.
