Description |
Authentication methods are widely used for transmission of data from one place to another. Authentication preserves the content of the data and also provides necessary security to examine the content from modifications, if any. Image authentication has its applications in military, remote sensing, medical databases and copyright protection. These applications contain sensitive data. Hence reversible data hiding is necessitated to preserve the content during authentication. Histogram-shifting is one of the reversible data hiding techniques. Medical images require special treatment over natural images. Medical images are generally computer-generated images. They inherently have more redundancies to be exploited to store patient-related information.
