Description The understanding of mathematics in learning needs to be emphasized because there are still many students who do not understand mathematical materials. Algebraic form material is a material that is considered difficult for students about the operation of algebraic form. The purpose of this research is to expose the mathematical understanding of the algebraic material aspects of the Self Efficacy students. Research conducted at the private MTs Al-Munawwarah in class VII-A consisting of 33 students. This research uses qualitative descriptive methods. The data collection techniques in this research in the form of written and poll tests. Data analysis techniques using three main steps namely scoring, data presentation and withdrawal of conclusions. The results showed that high-skilled students had high self efficacy, this was evident from the fulfilment of the three indicators of mathematical understanding ability. The students can have self efficacy moderate, only able to meet the second indicator that is associating some concepts/principles and stating them in mathematical symbols. Low-skilled students have a low self efficacy visible from students unable to meet the three indicators of mathematical comprehension ability.
Pemahaman matematika dalam pembelajaran perlu mendapat penekanan karena masih banyak siswa yang belum memahami materi matematika. Materi bentuk aljabar merupakan materi yang dianggap sulit bagi siswa khususnya tentang operasi bentuk aljabar. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk memaparkan kemampuan pemahaman matematis tentang materi bentuk aljabar dari aspek Self Efficacy siswa. Penelitian dilakukan di MTs Swasta Al-Munawwarah pada kelas VII-A yang terdiri dari 33 siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini berupa tes tertulis dan angket. Teknik analisis data menggunakan tiga langkah utama yakni penskoran, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa berkemampuan tinggi memiliki self efficacy yang tinggi, hal ini terlihat dari terpenuhinya ketiga indikator kemampuan pemahaman matematis. Siswa berkemampuan sedang memiliki self efficacy sedang, hanya mampu memenuhi indikator yang kedua yakni mengaitkan beberapa konsep/prinsip serta menyatakannya dalam simbol matematik. Siswa berkemampuan rendah memiliki self efficacy rendah terlihat dari siswa tidak dapat memenuhi ketiga indikator kemampuan pemahaman matematis.
