Description The success in increasing agricultural production must be followed by the development of process technology in the post harvest field, especially the drying process. Waste heat from the refrigerator condenser can be used for the drying process of wild ginger. Drying wild ginger is done to preserve wild ginger so that wild ginger can be used as raw material for medicines. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) can be used to see the pattern of temperature distribution and flow of hot air in the drying chamber visually so that it can increase the effectiveness and efficiency of rack type dryers. The purpose of this study was to analyze, the temperature distribution and air flow in the drying chamber of a rack type dryer that utilizes waste heat from the refrigerator condenser using CFD and continued with validation. The parameters in this study were temperature and air flow in the drying process of wild ginger for 8 hours. The temperature validation performed showede valid results which were indicated by an error value of 1,05 % in the empty condition and 2,62 % in the filled condition. While the speed of error value was 9,58 % in the empty condition and 9,47 % in the condition. CFD simulation calculations was valid because of the average value of the validation error was <10%. ABSTRAK Keberhasilan dalam meningkatkan produksi pertanian harus diikuti dengan pengembangan teknologi proses dalam bidang pasca panen, khususnya proses pengeringan. Limbah panas kondensor kulkas dapat dimanfaatkan untuk proses pengeringan temulawak. Pengeringan temulawak dilakukan untuk mengawetkan temulawak sehingga temulawak dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan baku obat-obatan. Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) dapat dimanfaatkan untuk melihat pola distribusi suhu dan aliran udara panas pada ruang pengering secara visual sehingga dapat meningkatkan efektivitas dan efesiensi alat pengering tipe rak. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis distribusi suhu dan aliran udara pada ruang pengering dari alat pengering tipe rak yang memanfaatkan limbah panas kondensor kulkas menggunakan CFD dan dilanjutkan dengan validasi. Parameter dalam penelitian ini adalah suhu dan aliran udara pada proses pengeringan temulawak untuk waktu 8 jam. Validasi suhu yang dilakukan menunjukkan hasil yang valid yang ditandai dengan nilai error 1,06% pada kondisi kosong dan 2,62% pada kondisi berisi. Sedangkan pada kecepatan nilai error sebesar 9,58% pada kondisi kosong dan 9,47%  pada kondisi berisi. Perhitungan simulasi CFD adalah valid karena nilai rata-rata error validasi <10 %.
