Description Sulfur goatfish (Upeneus sulphureus) is a demersal fish as the main commodity in Sunda Strait and commonly utilized. The research aimed to analyzed the stocks of sulfur goatfish as a basic management for optimum and sustainable used. Sampling was conducted in May-October 2018 in PPP Labuan, Banten by randomized sampling. The length of distribution frequencies were ranged between 71-162 mm. The value estimation of L∞ is 200,0 mm with K-value 0.26, whereas female fish has had an estimation value L∞ 172.5 mm with a K-value of 0.31. Sulfur goatfish have two top recruits. The total rate of mortality of male fish was 1.95 and female 1.40. The rate of exploitation of male was 0.81, while female was 0.70. Fish size was first caught, a male fish was 107.6 mm, and a female fish 118.9 mm.
Ikan kuniran (Upeneus sulphureus) merupakan ikan demersal sebagai komoditas tangkapan utama di Selat Sunda yang masih banyak dimanfaatkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis stok ikan kuniran sebagai dasar pengelolaan agar pemanfaatannya dapat dilakukan secara optimal dan berkelanjutan. Pengambilan contoh dilakukan secara acak berlapis berdasarkan panjang ikan pada bulan Mei-Oktober 2018 di PPP Labuan, Banten. Distribusi frekuensi panjang berkisar antara 71-162  mm. Nilai dugaan L∞ ikan jantan 200,0 mm dengan nilai K sebesar 0,26, sedangkan ikan betina memiliki nilai dugaan L∞ sebesar 172,5 mm dengan nilai K sebesar 0,31. Pola rekrutmen ikan kuniran memiliki dua puncak. Laju mortalitas total ikan jantan 1,95 dan betina 1,40. Laju eksploitasi ikan jantan sebesar 0,81, sedangkan ikan betina sebesar 0,70. Ukuran pertama kali tertangkap kuniran lebih kecil dibandingkan ukuran pertama kali matang gonad.
