This article is trying to raise awareness about the figure of Antonio Caballero who, born in Cordoba and after having passed the relevant competitions, served as Master of the Music in the Royal Chapel of Grenada from 1757 to 1822, with Real Appointment signed by D. Íñigo de Torres y Oliverio, Secretary of the Royal House at the time of Ferdinand VI.His activity as chapel master and composer extends for the entire second half of the XVIII century and almost the first quarter of the nineteenth century, always in the same institution grenadine. This paper is structured into three main principal parts: historic approximation to the era of Antonio Caballero, functions and salaries and Headings and Index.
Este artículo trata de dar a conocer la figura de Antonio Caballero que, nacido en Córdoba y después de haber aprobado las correspondientes oposiciones, ejerció como Maestro de la Capilla de Música de la Real de Granada de 1757 a 1822, con Nombramiento Real firmado por D. Íñigo de Torres y Oliverio, Secretario de la Real Cámara en tiempos de Fernando VI. Su actividad como Maestro de Capilla y compositor, se extiende por toda la segunda mitad del siglo XVIII y casi el primer cuarto del siglo XIX, siempre en la misma institución granadina. El trabajo se estructura en tres partes fundamentales: Aproximación histórica a la época de Antonio Caballero, Funciones y Sueldos e Íncipits e Índices. |
