Description This paper addresses the possibility of developing a safe method for the treatment of solid waste acids obtained during test execution percolation nickeliferous oxide ores; this includes the optimal management of solid waste generated during the process and the need to treat previously overlooking them less harmful with respect to the environment. For this reason, research proposes to have a process for treating solid waste acid resulting from tests percolation columns ore; so the work is developed based on the evaluation of the method used to treat solid waste acids, based on neutralizing them activated by adding lime as a neutralizing agent: which results in the precipitation of metals content and encapsulation with cement, forming the resulting mixture with small bricks, which can be used in smaller constructions, after verifying the ion mobility thereof. Tests showed that this treatment solves the environmental problems created by the accumulation of solid waste acids; this treatment is the basis for the procedure to establish a safe method for handling solid waste generated acids of the research being conducted in the CIPIMM, for the damage they cause to the environment draining acids that affect flora and wildlife; as well as groundwater. Este trabajo aborda la posibilidad de desarrollar un método seguro para el tratamiento de los sólidos ácidos residuales, obtenidos durante la ejecución de pruebas de percolación en minerales niquelíferos oxidados; lo cual incluye, el manejo óptimo de los residuos sólidos que se generan durante el proceso y la necesidad de tratarlos previamente con vista a hacerlos menos nocivos con respecto al medio ambiente. Por tal razón, la investigación propone, obtener un procedimiento para el tratamiento de los residuos sólidos ácidos, resultantes de las pruebas de percolación en columnas del mineral, por lo que el trabajo se desarrolla a partir de la evaluación del método empleado para tratar sólidos ácidos residuales, basado en la neutralización de los mismos añadiendo cal activada como agente neutralizante: lo cual trae como consecuencia la precipitación de los metales contenidos y el encapsulamiento con cemento, formando con la mezcla resultante pequeños ladrillos, que pueden ser empleados en construcciones menores, luego de comprobar la movilidad iónica de los mismos. Las pruebas realizadas demostraron que este tratamiento soluciona el problema ambiental creado por la acumulación de residuales sólidos ácidos; este tratamiento es la base para el procedimiento que establezca un método seguro para el manejo de los residuos sólidos ácidos que se generan de las investigaciones que se realizan en el CIPIMM, por el perjuicio que estos causan al medio ambiente drenando ácidos que afectan la flora y la fauna; así como al manto freático.
