Description The importance intercultural communicative competence plays in contemporary education of foreign languages has provided the latter with an approach that is frequently termed intercultural education. Nevertheless, the topic is still quite controversial, to say the least, and especially so in respect to issues related with the evaluation of intercultural communicative competence. In addition to the difficulties of defining the concept and criteria for its evaluation, we need to address the fundamental question of whether it is possible to evaluate intercultural competence at all, and, if this is the case, whether it is moral to do so. Here we explore the case of Serbia and a project whose goal was to define the standards of competence for foreign languages in formal primary education. As a member of the working group, and thus with the privilege of an insider’s perspective, I analyse the steps that were followed in the development of the standards for intercultural competence. This auto-ethnographic exposition aims at offering a critical analysis of intercultural competence in the curricular documents of foreign languages, but also at providing a space for reflection and self-evaluation.
Hay poca duda de que el momento actual represente una nueva ruptura epistemológica que abre posibilidades a un cambio de concepciones tradicionales sobre el conocimiento y para el desarrollo de nuevas ideas y métodos. Esta ruptura, evidente en las opuestas ideologías del positivismo y constructivismo, afecta el pensamiento contemporáneo y es particularmente evidente en el campo de la educación ya que esta juega un papel decisivo en el mantenimiento o el cuestionamiento de las ideologías epistemológicas dominantes. En medio de tales corrientes, el Ministerio de Educación, Ciencia y Desarrollo Tecnológico de la República de Serbia inició en 2015 el proyecto de la elaboración de estándares de competencia de lenguas extranjeras para el primer ciclo de la educación formal.
Medkulturna zmožnost igra osrednjo vlogo pri poučevanju tujih jezikov, zato je uvedba koncepta medkulturne sporazumevalne zmožnosti več kot utemeljena. Kljub temu dana tema še vedno odpira vrsto vprašanj, med drugim tudi vprašanje vrednotenja medkulturne zmožnosti pri učencih tujih jezikov. Poleg razprave o znanjih in spretnostih, ki tvorijo ta večplasten koncept, in raziskovanja meril, s katerimi bi jih lahko ovrednotili, se odpirajo temeljna vprašanja, ali je mogoče medkulturno zmožnost vrednotiti in, če bi bilo temu tako, ali je to sploh moralno. Prispevek preučuje primer Srbije, kjer je bil nedavno izveden projekt izdelave zmožnostnih standardov za tuje jezike. Kot članica delovne skupine sem imela privilegij proces izkusiti od znotraj, zato v prispevku analiziram potek snovanja in izdelave meril medkulturne zmožnosti za formalno osnovnošolsko izobraževanje. Pričujoča avtoetnografska razprava si prizadeva ponuditi kritično analizo mesta medkulturne zmožnosti v učnih načrtih tujih jezikov ter hkrati odpreti prostor za razmislek in samoovrednotenje.
