Description The electronic Knowledge and Skills Framework (e-KSF) is theperformance appraisal intranet system used by the National HealthService (NHS) in the United Kingdom. Introduced in 2004, the intiativeis a new pay system that simplifies and modernises the conditions ofservice for nurses and other NHS staff, excepting doctors, dentists andsenior managers who have a separate pay contract and appraisalsystem. This study examined the extention of the Technology AcceptanceModel (TAM) to the adoption of e-KSF in the National Health Scheme(NHS). In order to have a successful adoption of the e-KSF in NHS, thestudy suggests early user acceptance testing to reduce the risk of userrejection of the system, given the large investment this type of IT projectentails. The study provides a foundation for future study on why usingthe e-KSF in the NHS is the way it is and how to improve the systemdesign to encourage improved users acceptance and use of the system.
