Description AbstractA definitive diagnosis of malaria is done by microscopic examination since it remains the gold standard..Number of leukocytes among malaria patients changes in lymphocyte cells as an indicator of infection.Preparations of blood samples obtained from mass blood survey methods (MBS) in Central Sumba District,2015. There were 50 blood samples of 25 positive fasciparum and 25 positive vivax. It is found 84%increase in lymphocytes in patients with plasmodium falciparum and an increased of 72% of lymphocytescells among patients with plasmodium vivax compared to reference value. The average number of P.falciparum is 39,7200 lymphocytes and P.vivax is of 21,6000. A statistical test found that p value of<0.05 indicating there is a significant difference between the number of lymphocytes in P. falciparumand P. vivax. Iincreased cells significantly found in old stage of trofosoit with a density between 12-4156mL. It can be concluded that significant increase of lymphocyte cells and its morphology of plasmodiumfalciparum and vivax can be used to diagnose malaria patientswith microscopic methods.Keywords: lymphocytes, Plasmodium falciparum, Plasmodium vivax, microscopic AbstrakDiagnosis pasti malaria dilakukan dengan pemeriksaan mikroskopis karena hingga saat ini masihmerupakan "baku emas" Pada penderita malaria dalam darah ditemukan adanya perubahan jumlah selleukosit oleh karena itu penderita dengan perubahan jumlah sel limfosit dihubungkan dengan infeksimalaria. Sampel adalah pasien yang dicari secara aktif di masyarakat dengan metode survei darah masal(MBS) di Kabupaten Sumba Tengah Provisi Nusa Tenggata Timur tahun 2015. Total sampel adalah 50orang positif malaria, terdiri dari positif falciparum 25 orang dan positif vivax 25 orang. Pada penderitamalaria falciparum ditemukan 84% terjadi peningkatan sel limfosit dari nilai rujukan sedangkan malariavivax 72% mengalami peningkatan sel limfosit dan 28% berada dalam nilai rujukan. Rata-rata jumlahlimfosit P. falciparum 39,7200 dan P.vivax 21,6000 hasil uji statistik didapatkan nilai (P) berarti nilai P <0,05 menunjukan ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara jumlah limfosit pada P.falciparum dan P. vivax.Peningkatan sel secara bermakna ditemukan pada stadium trofosoit tua dengan kepadatan antara 12-4156 parasit/μl. Kesimpulan berdasarkan hasil analisis didapatkan jumlah peningkatan sel limfosit padapenderita malaria falciparum dan vivax yang menunjukkan perbedaan yang sangat signifikan maka dapatdipakai dalam diagnosa mikroskopis malaria penderita positif dengan jumah sel limfosit lebih banyak danditemukan morfologi P.falcifarum.Kata Kunci : persentase limfosit, Plasmodium falciparum, Plasmodium vivax, mikroskopis
