Description The article illustrates the fundamental aspects of treaties as main sources of international law, discussing the Article 38(1) of the Statute of International Court of Justice. Considering different definitions and opinions of scholars, the article explains why treaties are more used rather than other sources by the Court.
The work widely addresses to the Vienna Convention on Law of Treaties in a sense of analyzing elements of treaties and the main features of concluding them. Similarly, the international treaty-making practice of Uzbekistan is widely studiedwith the help of analysis of national law in this field, the legal framework of Uzbekistan, and appropriate proposals are elaborated.
