ABSTRAKReformasi 1998 mendorong terjadinya desentralisasi yang lebih luas. Banyak daerah mengusulkan untuk terjadinya pemekaran. Salah satu yang lahir adalah Kabupaten Bener Meriah melalui Undang-Undang Nomor 41 Tahun 2003. Pemekaran melahirkan pertanyaan apakah dapat memberikan pengaruh terhadap kesejahteraan masyarakat. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif. Dengan melihat pengaruh pemekaran kabupaten (x) pembangunan (y). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemekaran berpengaruh seignifikan terhadap kesehatan, pengetahuan dan hidup layak Masyarakat Kabupaten Bener meriah, hal ini terlihat dari Kesehatan terus mengalami peningkatan. Pendidikan mengalami peningkatan seperti infrastruktur, jumah tenaga pengajar hingga tingkat partisipasi sekolah. Selanjutnya Pendapatan masyarakat meningkat, kemampuan pengeluaran, kepemilikan tanah.ABSTRACTThe 1998 reforms led to broader decentralization. Many regions have proposed pemekaran. One of those that was born was Bener Meriah Regency through Law Number 41 of 2003. The expansion raises the question of whether it can have an influence on the welfare of the community. The method used in this research is quantitative method. By looking at the effect of district expansion (x) development (y). The results showed that the expansion had a significant effect on health, knowledge and a decent life for the people of Bener Regency. This was evident from the continuous improvement in health. Education has increased such as infrastructure, the number of teaching staff to the level of school participation. Furthermore, community income increases, expenditure ability, land ownership.
