Description ABSTRAKPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya aktivitas dan prestasi belajar IPA di SMPN 1 Amanuban Barat kelas VIII. Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui peningkatan aktivitas dan prestasi belajar siswa dengan penerapan model pembelajaran Group Investigation pada materi sistem ekskresi manusia kelas VIII SMPN 1 Amanuban Barat. Subyek penelitian adalah 18 siswa kelas VIIIA, terdiri dari 8 laki-laki dan 10 perempuan. Desain penelitian menggunakan one group pretest posttest design. Berdasarkan hasil pretest, siswa memiliki aktivitas dan prestasi belajar yang belum mencapai KKM yang ditetapkan yaitu 70, setelah penerapan model pembelajaran group investigation, aktivitas dan prestasi belajar siswa meningkat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai rata-rata aktivitas belajar siswa 88,5 dan nilai rata-rata prestasi belajar siswa 82. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran group investigation dapat meningkatkan aktivitas dan prestasi belajar siswa VIIIA SMPN 1 Amanuban Barat. Kata kunci: Amanuban Barat; group investigation; model pembelajaran ABSTRACTThe use of group investigation for students learning activities and achievements in learning human excretory system for grade eight students.The background of this study is the low activity and achievement of students in Science at grade VIII SMPN 1 Amanuban Barat. The aim of this study is to identify the improvement of students activity and learning achievement by applying group investigation learning model in human exretion system. The subject of this study were students of grade VIIIA which are 18 students with 8 boys and 10 girls. The design used was one group pretest-posttest. Based on pretest observation, the students learning achievement were low and after applying group investigation learning model, the learning achievement was improved. The result of the study showed that the students average learning activity was 88,5 and learning achievement grade was 82. It showed that group investigation learning model could improve students learning activity and learning achievement. Keywords: Amanuban Barat; group investigation;learning model
