Description Abstrak: Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah memberikan kesempatan kepada keluarga penderita skizofrenia untuk belajar dalam melakukan perawatan kepada anggota keluarganya yang menderita skizofrenia. Pengabdian pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan melalui metode ceramah serta diskusi tanya jawab dengan menekankan pada materi perawatan penderita skizofrenia. Selain itu, pengabdi juga memfasilitasi peserta dengan membentuk peer group yang terdiri dari 3 kelompok dengan masing-masing kelompok sebanyak 10 orang. Hasil dari kegiatan ini didapatkan nilai skor rata-rata pengetahuan peserta sebelum kegiatan sebesar 55 sedangkan nilai skor rata-rata sesudah melakukan peer group diperoleh nilai sebesar 87. Sesuai hasil ini didapatkan adanya peningkatan skor sebanyak 32. Dari seluruh rangkaian kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dapat disimpulkan bahwa keluarga penderita skizofrenia sangat kooperatif dan mampu melaksanakan tanggungjawab dalam merawat keluarganya. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa program pengabdian masyarakat ini perlu untuk diteruskan dan dilanjutkan guna meningkatkan derajat kesehatan mental pasien skizofrenia melalui pemberdayaan keluarga.
Abstract: The purpose of this activity is to provide opportunities for families with schizophrenia to learn to care for family members who suffer from schizophrenia. This community service is carried out through the lecture method and question and answer discussion by emphasizing the care material for people with schizophrenia. In addition, the service provider also facilitates participants by forming peer groups consisting of 3 groups with each group of 10 people. The results of this activity obtained an average score of participant knowledge before the activity of 55, while the average score after conducting a peer group was 87. According to these results, there was an increase in the score of 32. From the whole series of community service activities, it can be concluded that families with schizophrenia are very cooperative and able to carry out their responsibilities in caring for their families. This shows that this community service program needs to be continued and continued in order to improve the mental health status of schizophrenia patients through family empowerment.
