Description Antoni Cunill Cabanelles ha sido uno de los fundadores de la moderna escena argentina siendo creador de instituciones fundamentales como el Teatro Nacional de la Comedia (1935), convirtiéndose en un referente ineludible del teatro argentino. En este artículo intentamos realizar una aproximación a su figura, especialmente antes de su marcha a la Argentina, descubriendo las raíces familiares que lo vincularon al teatro y la estrecha relación que estableció como discípulo de Adrià Gual.
Antoni Cunill Cabanellas was one of the founders of the modern theatre in Argentina. He created such basic institutions as the Teatro Nacional de la Comedia (1935) and became an inevitable referent of the Argentine theatre. This article deals with his Catalan origin, his first steps in the theatre, both discovering his family roots in this world and his close relationship with Adrià Gual when he became his disciple.
