Description Berdasarkan data sekunder kejadian gelombang signifikan tahunan dan dari hasil pemodelan distribusi gelombang.di perairan Mentawai, tercatat tinggi gelombang di daerah tersebut adalah antara 1,4 – 2,3 meter dengan perioda sekitar 7,8 – 8,3 detik dari 35% total frekuensi kejadian gelombang tahunan. Perhitungan potensi energi gelombang dikaji dengan menggunakan pemodelan yang dirata-ratakan untuk periode sepuluh tahun antara 2006 dan 2015 dengan mempertimbangkan variabilitas tahunan dan musiman. Dari persamaan perhitungan potensi energi gelombang, didapat rata-rata daya gelombang tahunan sekitar 8-16 kW/m dengan daya maksimum 16-20 kW/m di area pantai barat Pulau Siberut (PKST). Sementara perubahan rata-rata bulanan daya gelombang selama 10 tahun (2009-2018) dihitung dengan mengacu dari data satelit AVISO pada koordinat 04o-01o LS dan 98o-101o BT dengan resolusi spasial sebesar 1ox1o dengan data batimetri GEBCO resolusi 1 menit. Dari hasil pemodelan didapat musim timur (Juni-Juli-Agustus) dan musim peralihan ke-2 (September-Oktober-November) mencapai 17 kW/m di perairan Pasakiat Teileleu. Hasil verifikasi model gelombang terhadap data altimetri menunjukkan tingkat korelasi hingga 76,23%.Kata kunci: Tinggi gelombang signifikan (Hs), daya gelombang (P), variabilitas musim, Mentawai. Based on secondary data of significant annual wave events and from the results of wave distribution modeling in the Mentawai waters, recorded wave height in the area is between 1.4 - 2.3 meters with a period of about 7.8 - 8.3 seconds from 35% of the total frequency annual wave events.Calculation of wave energy potential is assessed using averaged modeling for the ten years period between 2006 and 2015 taking into account annual and seasonal variability. From the equation of the calculation of wave energy potential, the average annual wave power is around 8-16 kW / m with a maximum power of 16-20 kW / m in the western coast area of Siberut Island (PKST). While the change in monthly average wave power for 10 years (2009-2018) is calculated by referring to the AVISO satellite data at coordinates 04o-01o S and 98o-101o E with 1ox1o spatial resolution with GEBCO bathymetry data 1 minute resolution. From the modeling results, the east monsoon (Juny-July-August) and the second transition monsoon (September-October-November) reached 17 kW/m in the waters of Pakasiat Teleleu. The results of the verification of the wave model against the altimetry data showed a correlation level of up to 76.23%.Key word: Significant Wave Height (Hs), Wave Power (P), seasonal variability, Mentawai.
