Description This study aims to determine the use of media Pop-Up Book in improving the writing skills of essay descriptions of elementary school students. The research is motivated by the problem of the difficulty of elementary school students writing a description essay. This research is a classroom action research by adapting Kemmis Mc Taggart's model. The instruments used in this study include learning plan sheets, observation sheets, questionnaire sheets, and tests. Based on the results of research conducted on students in fourth-grade of SDN 2 Galagamba, it can be concluded that the Pop-Up Book media can improve the writing skills of essay description of elementary school students. An interesting finding in this study is that the efforts of teachers to teach each student are different, it depends on the level of teacher creativity in the process of managing learning in the classroom.
Abstrak
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penggunaan media Pop-Up Book dalam meningkatkan keterampilan menulis karangan deskripsi siswa sekolah dasar. Adapun penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh permasalahan kesulitan siswa sekolah dasar dalam memulis karangan deskripsi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas dengan mengadaptasi model Kemmis Mc Taggart. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini antara lain lembar rencana pembelajaran, lembar observasi, lembar angket, dan tes. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan pada siswa kelas IV SDN 2 Galagamba, dapat disimpulkan bahwa media Pop-Up Book dapat meningkatkan keterampilan menulis karangan deskripsi siswa sekolah dasar. Temuan menarik dalam penelitian ini yakni upaya guru dalam membelajarkan setiap siswa berbeda-beda, hal tersebut bergantung kepada tingkat kreativitas guru dalam proses pengelolaan pembelajaran di kelas.
