Description There is scientific evidence that poor environmental quality can negatively affect brain power abilities and emotional state and, consequently, provoke stress. Traditional approach to labor productivity does not provide sufficient information on a worker’s performance. As such, there is a need for broader understanding of labor productivity. This reveals a new area of study associated with broader system of labor productivity sources and better understanding of their significance. In current paper, we contribute to discussion by the development of theoretical framework for assessing the influence of environmental factor on traditional factors of labor productivity and such a subjective aspect of labor productivity, as a worker’s stress level. Literature review demonstrates that a relatively small decrease in emissions can yield significant longterm benefits to different dimensions of human capital and culminate in increased lifetime earnings. We have identified that building up a theoretical frame for assessing the influence of environmental factor on a worker stress level is associated with the range of methodological issues, in particular, related to the complicated and multifaceted nature of stress as a concept, difficulty in determining stress using quantitative measures. For assessing the influence of environmental factor on a worker stress level, we have also proposed hypothesis to be verified.
