Description Abstract: Research in the background with the use of innovative methods that are still lacking by teachers especially social studies learning is the theme of the beauty of diversity in my country of class IV. Therefore. this study applies the mind mapping method based on local wisdom which aims to improve the quality of IPS learning including teacher activities, student activities and learning outcomes of fourth grade students. This type of research is classroom action research (ptk) which is carried out for two cycles, each cycle consisting of the stages of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The research was conducted in SDN Jombatan IV Jombang with research subjects totaling 35 fourth grade students in the 2018/2019 academic year. Social studies learning data collection was carried out with a short fill test technique and a description covering aspects of knowledge, attitudes and skills, the collected data was then analyzed in a quantitative descriptive manner. The results showed that there was an increase in social studies learning outcomes of class IV students, the first cycle was 42.85% in the incomplete criteria while the second cycle was 85.71% in the criteria of completion because it had exceeded the value of classical completeness namely ≥ 80%. Based on the results of these studies it can be concluded that the application of mind mapping methods based on local wisdom can improve the quality of social studies learning the theme of the beauty of diversity in my country in the fourth grade of SDN Jombatan IV Jombang.
Abstrak: Penelitian di latar belakangi dengan penggunaan metode inovatif yang masih kurang oleh guru terutama pembelajaran IPS tema Indahnya Keragaman di Negeriku kelas IV. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini menerapkan metode mind mapping berbasis kearifan lokal yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran IPS meliputi aktivitas guru, aktivitas siswa dan hasil belajar siswa kelas IV. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) yang dilaksanakan selama 2 siklus, setiap siklus terdiri dari tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SDN Jombatan IV Jombang dengan subjek penelitian berjumlah 35 siswa kelas IV Tahun ajaran 2018/2019. Pengumpulan data pembelajaran IPS ini dilakukan dengan teknik tes isian singkat dan uraian yang mencakup aspek pengetahuan, sikap dan keterampilan, data yang telah terkumpul selanjutnya di analisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa adanya peningkatan hasil pembelajaran IPS siswa kelas IV, siklus I yaitu 42,85% berada di kriteria tidak tuntas sedangkan siklus II yaitu 85,71% berada di kriteria tuntas karena sudah melebihi nilai ketuntasan klasikal yakni ≥ 80%. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan metode mind mapping berbasis kearifan lokal dapat meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran IPS tema Indahnya Keragaman di Negeriku kelas IV SDN Jombatan IV Jombang.
