Description The following article presents a theoretical approach to paradiplomacy as an indispensable element in the development of contemporary international relations, which today is characterized by a diversity of actors that has led subnational entities and non-governmental organizations to achieve ample room for maneuver in the solution of problems that until recently only concerned States. In this way, this article provides a theoretical and conceptual framework of this branch within international politics, one that, though not studied often, is of high relevance in offering timely answers to the contemporary problems that occur in different parts of the world.
