As a prerequisite for participation in the PKP Index, metadata providers are asked to agree to the following terms and conditions.

I, in good faith, accept and confirm the following terms and conditions for participation in the Public Knowledge Project Index (henceforth, the PKP Index):

  1. I have the authority to include and make accessible the journal, conference, or monograph metadata in the PKP index and, if and when necessary, its successors.

  2. I agree to receive occasional communications from PKP related to the PKP Index.

  3. I acknowledge that the PKP Index, as an open database, may be used by third parties to harvest and make this metadata available in other services and platforms.

  4. I agree that PKP reserves the right to use the aggregated data resulting from participation in the PKP Index for research and reporting purposes. PKP will adhere to the norms of standard research procedures. Results will be shared with participants if requested.

  5. I agree that the PKP Index is primarily intended as a community service for content providers and is not intended as a marketing or promotion vehicle for individual publishers.

  6. I acknowledge these terms may be revised from time to time and will supersede all previous versions. Participants will be notified by contact email if this happens.

  7. I understand that I can cease participation in this service and delete my data at any time by contacting PKP staff (pkp.contact@gmail.com). Removal in this way will also remove our organization contact information from any and all PKP Index contact and mailing lists.

  8. I agree that PKP reserves the right to refuse or cancel my membership in the PKP Index, without cause or notice, or for non-compliance with these terms, effective immediately.

  9. All provisions of these terms and conditions, which by their nature shall survive termination, including, without limitation, ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity and limitations of liability.
